    Altus Chamber of Commerce Tourism Grant


    Supporting Events that Bring Visitors to Altus

    The Altus Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for Tourism Grant Funds, designed to support major events or activities that attract out-of-town visitors to Altus, Oklahoma.


    Grant Details & Eligibility


    • Applications are due by the 1st of each month
    • Priority is given to 2-day events that encourage overnight stays at local Altus hotels
    • Funds must be used to increase tourism and event sustainability, including:
      • Advertising & promotions
      • Prizes & awards
      • Event facility improvements
      • Event entertainment
    • Grant funds cannot be used for normal operating expenses of the hosting organization

    📌 The Altus Chamber of Commerce administers these funds on behalf of the City of Altus, distributing Hotel/Motel Use Tax revenue to promote tourism and convention visitation in Altus, Oklahoma.


    Purpose of the Tourism Grant


    This program aims to:
    ✔️ Increase visitors and tourists from outside Jackson County
    ✔️ Drive overnight stays in local hotels
    ✔️ Boost purchases from local businesses
    ✔️ Support the local economy and residents


    💡 Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    Application Requirements

    To Apply, Submit the Following:


    ✅ Completed Application Form (Download Below)
    ✅ Event Description & Economic Impact Statement


    • A written (typed) narrative describing your event’s anticipated benefits to Altus
    • Attach an event flyer or advertisement
      ✅ Budget Chart
    • Outline projected income & expenses for your event
      ✅ Sponsorship Acknowledgment
    • The Altus Chamber of Commerce must be included as an event sponsor in advertising & promotions


    📅 Applications must be submitted by the 1st of each month.
    ✅ Funds will only be released after the event is completed and a final report is approved.

    Final Grant Report Requirements

    All grant recipients must submit a Final Grant Report within 60 days of the event, including:


    • Paid receipts
    • Event overview
    • Total number of attendees
    • Number of overnight hotel stays in Altus


    📌 Failure to submit a Final Grant Report may result in loss of funding.
